SOUTH INDIA
Chennai is India's fourth largest city, joining in at the beautiful beach from Mahabalipuram into the shining Mysore with the splendourful Maharaja palace and the multicolored bazaars. Journey continues to go to Ootacamund (also as Ooty well-known), where the British colonial gentlemen in over 2,000 meters height a cosy summer-resort had furnished by them. A high point of the journey is driving downhill with the “Nilgiri express”, an express train in the snail speed. From the heights of the Nilgiri mountains rather cool in the summer it at night goes through coffee estates, later through vegetable fields, in order to dive in at the foot of the mountains again into the tropical warm climate and into a stout vegetation out of bamboo, bananas and palms. Leading you to kerala famous for spices, houseboats, backwaters, beaches and rich cultural heritate.
