Kota is a part of the south-east of Rajasthan, known as Hadot. Deva Rao, head of Hada, and founded Bundi Hadot in the 12th century. A latest of Mughal emperor Shahjahan in the seventeenth century AD, made Madho Singh, son of Rao Ratan of Bundi, Kota rule. Thus, Kota received the status of an independent state.
