Kota is a part of the south-east of Rajasthan, known as Hadot. Deva Rao, head of Hada, and founded Bundi Hadot in the 12th century. A latest of Mughal emperor Shahjahan in the seventeenth century AD, made Madho Singh, son of Rao Ratan of Bundi, Kota rule. Thus, Kota received the status of an independent state. Since then, Kota was a witness to the bravery, culture and traditions of Rajput.
