In the morning after breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram en- route visiting Kancheepuram - Is one of India’s most spectacular temple cities and its many gopurams can be seen from miles away. Between the 6th and 8th century AD, Kancheepuram was the great capital of the Pallava Kings. Visiting Kailasanathan Temple. Built by the Pallavas, the temple has 54 small shrines around it. Vaikuntaperumal Temple – The Vaikuntaperumal Temple is dedicated to Vishnu. Elegant pillars carved with lions edge the temple courtyard. Ekambareshwaran Temple dedicated to Shiva, this is one of the largest temples in Kanchipuram, its huge gopuram 57 meters high and besides a thousand – pillared hall which house the temple’s numerous art facts. There is an old mango tree with four branches that is supposed to be 2500 years. The fruits of the four branches are said to different in taste & continue your drive to Mahabalipuram & Check in at Hotel. Afternoon you will be taken on a half day sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram visiting Krishna mandapa, Mahishasuramardhini, Arjuna’s. Penance, Five Rathas and Shore Temple. The only shore temple which remains here is the spectacular two - spire shrine, unique because it houses both Lord Shiva and the Lord Vishnu in its sanctum-sanctorum. Overnight will be at Hotel. After breakfast, driven to Tanjore en-route visiting Trichy– situated on the banks of Kaveri River is a blend of history and tradition as well as pilgrim center. Then continue your drive towards Tanjore. Upon arrival check into your hotel and relax. Later, visit Brahadeswara temple (or the big temple of God). The temple tower rises to a height of 15mts from a square base of 29 meters and then tapers off, making a total of 66mts. Overnight will be at Hotel.
